SUMMARY

The global infrastructure engineering, procurement, and construction major KEC International, a division of RPG Group, has landed massive orders of over ₹1,030 crore across its operations. The announcement demonstrates the firm’s continued track record of securing diverse infrastructure initiatives in both domestic and international markets. These new orders bring the company’s year-to-date intake to a significant mark of ₹8,600 crore, underlining its strong commercial performance and execution capability across all the specialty engineering segments.

Strategic expansions in transmission and momentum

The contracts secured are a significant part of KEC International’s existing transmission and distribution operations, where it has successfully built up its current operating footprint internationally. In this segment, the company has won a significant project to establish a 400 kV transmission line in Bhutan.

It was the organization’s re-entry into the Bhutan market after more than two decades to round off its international portfolio. Besides the Bhutan project, KEC International has secured another project for a 380 kV transmission line in Saudi Arabia, further strengthening its foothold in the Middle Eastern energy market. The transmission and distribution segment strengthened its North American market footprint with power line towers and hardware and pole supply contracts.

In addition to its transmission and distribution milestones, KEC International has also progressed notably in the field of renewables, specifically wind engineering, procurement, and construction services. The company has bagged a substantial contract for a wind project of more than 300 MW from a reputed private developer from the southern region of India.

The strategic contract award underscores the company’s rapid growth rate in the wind energy segment and the growing footprint in its commercial product range. This initiative marks the first time KEC International has been able to bring one of its marquee clients under its portfolio, showcasing the company’s newfound expertise in executing large-scale renewable infrastructure projects to address India’s expanding clean energy needs.

Diversified gains and executive leadership

Along with providing renewable power infrastructure and transmission lines, KEC International has consolidated its commercial position with cables and conductors business. The business unit has successfully obtained an array of orders from a diverse set of domestic Indian markets and select overseas outlets.

The cable and conductor orders support the company’s more significant engineering and construction initiatives and offer a full engineering solution and assured commercial cash flows in multiple markets and geographies.

In celebrating these milestones, Vimal Kejriwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at KEC International, underscored the significance of such recent successes across various areas of the business. While introducing its presence in Bhutan, he said the company has significantly enhanced its overall order book with several new wins, thereby adding diversification to the firm’s international operational portfolio.

On clean energy, Vimal Kejriwal pointed out that momentum in the wind engineering, procurement and construction segment has been kept alive, as they have won a big order from a reputed private developer and are getting a marquee client on board. He reiterated that KEC International’s year-to-date order haul is at over ₹8,600 crore with these latest contracts.
