Indore becomes the fourth new city on Comic Con India’s calendar this season, bringing the pop-culture experience to Madhya Pradesh for the first time

Indore, October 27, 2026: The wait is finally over for pop-culture fans across Madhya Pradesh as the maiden edition of Maruti Suzuki presents Indore Comic Con powered by Crunchyroll, arrives in the city on December 19–20, 2026, at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore.

Marking Comic Con India’s inaugural edition in Madhya Pradesh, the event will bring together the state’s growing community of comics, anime, gaming, cosplay and pop culture enthusiasts, giving them a space to celebrate their passion, unapologetically.

The event also aims to create opportunities for artists, storytellers and creators to meet their audiences in person, share their experiences and give fans a closer look at the creative process. For aspiring artists and young creators, the event will offer a space to discover and  interact with established voices from the world of comics and pop culture.

Shefali Johnson, CEO, Comic Con India, said, “Madhya Pradesh has always been a state where stories, art and imagination have found many forms, from the intricate Nagara architecture of Khajuraho and the timeless legacy of Sanchi to the distinctive palaces and monuments that reflect the region’s rich history and craftsmanship. We see a similar spirit of creativity and expression in the state’s young communities today. The growing pop-culture scene in Madhya Pradesh is visible in the increasing number of local anime and cosplay events, community-led activations and social media pages dedicated to bringing fans together.

From cosplay competitions and Japanese culture festivals to anime-themed gatherings in Indore and Bhopal, these platforms give fans opportunities to meet, showcase their creativity and engage with like-minded communities. This growing participation reflects the potential for a larger platform like Comic Con to connect these communities and give fans across the state more opportunities to celebrate their love for pop-culture.  Indore is an exciting addition to the Comic Con family, and we look forward to creating a space where fans from across the state can come together, celebrate the stories and characters they love, discover new passions and bring their own imagination to life.”

Akshat Rathee, Co-founder and Managing Director, NODWIN Gaming, said, “Taking Comic Con to Indore is a meaningful step in our larger mission of taking fandom to new territories and bringing the experience closer to where fans are. Indore has a distinctive identity shaped by its rich Holkar heritage, iconic architecture and a young, evolving culture that is increasingly open to new forms of entertainment, creativity and community. We see an opportunity here not just to bring a national-scale pop-culture experience to the city, but to create a platform for the local ecosystem, where artists can meet their audiences, creators can share their stories and knowledge, and cosplayers and fans can come together and grow the community. For us, the real success of expanding into cities like Indore is when Comic Con becomes a part of the city’s own fandom culture.”

Cosplay will be another key part of the celebration, giving enthusiasts from Indore and across Madhya Pradesh an opportunity to come together, showcase their creativity and connect with fellow cosplayers. As the local community continues to grow, Comic Con aims to provide a platform for fans to meet like-minded people, exchange ideas and build stronger connections around their shared passions.

The maiden edition of Indore Comic Con will feature a diverse line-up of experiences across comics, anime, gaming, cosplay, entertainment and pop culture. Fans can look forward to creator interactions, artist showcases, cosplay activities, merchandise, gaming experiences and immersive brand experiences, with further details to be announced closer to the event.

With a growing appetite for new forms of entertainment and pop culture, the maiden edition will give fans an opportunity to experience the larger-than-life world of Comic Con closer to home.
