New Delhi, 28 September, 2026: India’s clean energy landscape is undergoing a significant transformation, with already surpassing 300 GW of non-fossil fuel generation capacity and solar alone contributing over 164 GW. Yet, as businesses strive for greater energy efficiency, reliability, and sustainability, the focus is shifting from simply adding renewable capacity to managing and storing that energy more intelligently. Industry data shows India could require up to 47 GW/236 GWh of battery storage by 2032 to support this new phase, underscoring the urgent need for flexible, application-specific solutions for commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers. To support this transition, more than 100 companies from 50 cities will converge in Hyderabad on September 30 for the National Conference on Solar and BESS for Grid + C&I Sector, hosted by the NetZero Energy Transition Association (NETRA) at the KLN Prasad Auditorium, Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), Red Hills, Hyderabad.

Centred on the theme, “Addressing Reliability, Resiliency and Power Quality with Battery Storage,” the conference will bring together policymakers, power-sector leaders, distribution utilities, technology providers, developers, investors, and commercial and industrial energy consumers to advance the deployment of solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across India. Over 25 speakers, 200 delegates, and 50 C&I energy consumers are expected, making this a focused forum for business models, grid integration, power quality, resilience, technology, financing, regulation, and new market opportunities in solar-plus-storage.

For commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) offer a reliable way to manage demand charges, reduce diesel backup use, enhance power quality, and maximise the value of onsite or contracted renewable energy, helping businesses achieve both cost savings and sustainability targets.

The conference is part of NETRA’s Clean Energy Transition series, following successful editions in Pune and Mumbai, and will deepen dialogue in Telangana and southern India.
