Capital allocation and significant investment plan

The $9 million round is the next in a sequence of investment rounds, following byteXL’s Series A investment round secured in July 2024 for $5.9 million. Kalaari Capital and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, existing investors, both contributed to the earlier Series A round and have continued to support the company with financial backing.

This series of capital raises reflects ongoing investor faith in the business model, operational execution, and future market opportunities of byteXL as it continues to build a footprint across the higher education technology industry.

There were several key strategic growth areas where the new capital investment of $9 million will be directed. The funds will be used by the firm to build out the institution’s network, improve its artificial intelligence and technological platform as a whole, and implement new skilling programs.

byteXL will be making considerable investments in learning and assessment technologies powered by artificial intelligence, as well as in advanced student analytics and very personalized learning instruments.

Ambitious roadmap and operational model

byteXL was founded by Twin brothers Karun Tadepalli and Sricharan Tadepalli and targets engineering colleges with a particular focus on Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The fundamental mission of the startup is to provide appropriate technology and artificial intelligence skills to support a normal full-length education and curriculum.

The special operation model includes close integration of college academic programs, industry-academy application-type courses, powerful technology systems, and specially trained instructors.

The effectiveness of the institutional strategy of byteXL is demonstrated by the career placement metrics it achieved recently. Over the last year, the company says it placed 7,600 of its byteXL graduates in competitive career opportunities in the IT and engineering sectors.

Released to bridge the gap between conventional college education and vibrant market requirements, byteXL ensures that students from hubs in the region receive hands-on skills for landing jobs in modern tech sectors.

byteXL has partnered with 40 academic institutions, reaching an estimate of around 2 lakh learners. With the newly raised $9 million, the company has mapped out an ambitious roadmap for the next 2 years.

During this time, byteXL intends to expand by a factor of ten, reaching 120 institutions with 5 lakh students in 15 states and introducing cutting-edge technical education to a much wider audience of budding engineers.

Conclusion

The $9 million round, led by Elevar Equity with Kalaari Capital and Michael & Susan Dell Foundation as participants, is the first large investment to put byteXL on a faster growth path. Founders Karun Tadepalli and Sricharan Tadepalli are addressing a critical skilling gap in higher education by focusing on colleges in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. As byteXL expands to 5 lakh students across 120 institutions, the company’s success in providing career-ready engineering graduates in just a year is expected to leave a transformative mark on tech education and career readiness over the next two years.
