SUMMARY

Bharat Housing Network is a prominent secured credit system. Bharat Housing Network has raised $5 million (approximately ₹47 crore). The fresh infusion of capital has been secured through green bonds issued to Symbiotics. It is a financial transaction in a multi-million-pound green bond programme of $75m in total, designed by Dublin-based Symbiotics in conjunction with British International Investment. Bharat Housing Network had raised ₹125 crore (approximately $14.5 million) in its Series A financing round, led by NABVENTURES, prior to this green bond offering.

Strategic deployment and impact metrics

The proceeds will be put to systematic use through Singularity Creditworld, a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) under Bharat Housing Network. The primary goal of this fund deployment would be to meet funding requirements for green assets in India.

Funding areas identified include rooftop solar financing, electric mobility financing, and provision of necessary credit solutions to clean-tech Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The platform uses this funding to enhance its capacity to provide sustainable financing and facilitate the growth of carbon-neutral infrastructure among these specific target groups within the commercial and retail sector.

Bharat Housing Network has built up significant positioning across the financial ecosystem to provide nearly ₹2,000 crore of credit to over 40,000 low-income and middle-income borrowers through its secured network. In addition to providing affordable credit, the company has created measurable environmental impact in its focus areas.

It has supported the installation of 7,162 kW of rooftop solar and investment in over 800 EVs. Based on the company’s metrics, the total assets funded through these green measures could result in approximately 1,01,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions prevented, which is a concrete step toward environmental sustainability and clean energy deployment.

Target issuances and corporate structure

Bharat Housing Network (BHN) was established by Lalit Menghani, Madhusudan Sharma, and Prasad Ajinkya. The enterprise has the status of a centralized business in the Homeville Group. The basic technology and infrastructure services that the company offers help the company smoothly package the capital for the following operational vertical segments: mortgages, clean energy, electric mobility, and gold loans.

The startup has secured support from a wide range of leading institutional investors to help fuel its continued growth and expansion. Key investors include NABVENTURES, 100Unicorns, Varanium, Riverwalk, and LC Nueva, all of whom have helped shape the firm’s vision and footprint in the market.

Bharat Housing Network has clearly defined corporate goals and its revenue growth plan for the green financing portfolio, as well as the expansion of the market. The organization aims to issue up to $25 million in green bonds by the end of the next financial year.

Future funds raised from these planned sales will go toward its broader green asset financing scale. These funds will also be used for the continued credit and debt funding of sustainable enterprises and retail businesses from across various regions in India.

Conclusion

The proposed green bond financing of $5 million with Symbiotics marks a significant milestone for Bharat Housing Network as it deepens its expertise in green asset financing. The company is also strengthening its mission of financial inclusion and environmental sustainability by funding rooftop solar projects, electric mobility, and clean-tech MSMEs through its group NBFC Singularity Creditworld.
