The saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) holds the record for the strongest bite force among current species, with a formidable 16,460 newtons, as per a 2012 study in PLOS One. For comparison, 1 newton is roughly a quarter pound of force. 

GREAT WHITE SHARK

The great white shark boasts powerful jaw muscles capable of generating a bite force up to 18,216 newtons (4,000 pounds-force), enabling it to deliver a crushing bite.

Alligators boast the strongest bite force at 2000 psi, surpassing lions (600 psi) and humans (120 psi). An alligator's bite weighs in at about 2000 psi. That's nothing compared to the crocodile, though, which has a bite  force of about 3,700 psi .

HIPPOPOTAMUS

Hippos wield an astounding bite force of approximately 1800 pounds per square inch (PSI), nearly three times more than a lion (650 PSI) and a remarkable 15 times the average human bite force of 126 PSI.
