In September 2023, the app added “view-once” functionality for images and videos in one-on-one communication. The business is now adding audio and video messaging to this feature. To let the receiver hear the voice message or view the video message just once, users can touch the mic symbol to begin recording and then pull up to tap the “view-once” option.
Telegram is also rolling out a feature that lets users pause and resume recording audio and video conversations from the same menu.
Telegram now adds a feature in one-on-one private chats that lets users know when the other person sees their message. This feature has a settings option that you can turn off.
Additionally, the business is rolling out a few additional features for subscribers. Premium users can now choose to conceal their read time, but they can still view others’ read times that have been shared publicly.
Paid users can also select who gets to message them first. They can choose “My Contacts and Premium User” or “Everyone.”
Telegram introduced new capabilities last month to improve channel customization and discovery. It added better calls with end-to-end encryption protection later in the month, which uses less battery life on your phone. Additionally, the business improved its bot platform to enable bots to respond to messages, control quotations, reactions, and links, and reply to other chats or subjects.
In summary, Telegram’s introduction of ‘view-once’ voice and video messages signifies a significant stride towards enhancing user privacy and communication dynamics on the messaging platform. This innovative feature adds extra protection and confidentiality to sensitive content by enabling users to send messages that are only available to the recipient once. Telegram is a well-known player in the messaging app industry because of its commitment to providing cutting-edge and secure communication features in a time when the digital landscape prioritizes user privacy. Incorporating ‘view-once’ messages not only provides users with more control over the shared content but also follows the industry trend of adopting ephemeral messaging services. With digital communication constantly changing, Telegram’s strategic move demonstrates its unwavering dedication to responding to user preferences while maintaining a laser-like emphasis on privacy and security.
