The festival of lights is quickly approaching, so music streaming service Spotify is introducing a new section of its app that is devoted to everything Diwali. Personalized playlists, Spotify snippets, Blend playlists featuring some of India’s most well-known musicians, and more will be available in the hub. Despite being being made accessible for Android, the streaming service claims that it will “be spreading out over the following days.”
The hub contains a variety of playlists, including “Daily Diwali,” a daily blend of new Diwali music for you to enjoy, and “Your Diwali 2022,” another playlist that contains “all the tunes you need to enter into the spirit of Diwali.” Then there are the regional playlists, which have music from all around our nation’s cultures, like Deepavali Kondattam (Tamil), Deepavali Dhamaka (Telugu), Diwali Bash (Hindi), and Diwali Party Hits (Punjabi).
Through the company’s Blend playlist function, users will also be able to construct shared playlists with musicians like composer A.R. Rahman, Bollywood hitmaker B Praak, or singer G.V. Prakash.
You’ll watch Instagram Reels-style videos with special greetings from Amit Trivedi, Asees Kaur, B Praak, Darshan Raval, Devi Sri Prasad, G.V. Prakash, and Karan Aujla at the top of the website, enhancing the joyful atmosphere.
According to Nick Dahl, senior product manager at Spotify, “with this new product experience, we want to highlight local culture by giving our consumers the finest audio platform to soundtrack their lives.” “The Diwali hub on Spotify showcases a celebration that more than a billion people around the world participate in. Our dedication to creating a better localised product for listeners throughout the world is just getting started.
By typing “Diwali 2022” into the app’s search field, you can visit the Diwali centre. As an added bonus, you can use special Spotify Diwali stickers to decorate your Instagram stories to share holiday cheer. To accomplish this, simply search “Spotify Diwali” on the app.
