Seeds Fincap Series B funding

SUMMARY

Seed Fincap has raised more than ₹100 crore in its Series B funding round. The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation led the investment round. It signifies increasing confidence in financial services targeting specific markets that were previously unserviced. The round also featured active participation by existing investors Z47 and Lok Capital, as well as new and supporting investors Norinchukin Capital and Alteria Capital. This transaction was led by Unitus Capital, which served as the primary financial adviser for the successful completion of the transaction.

Capital deployment and core business model

The company intends to use the recently collected funds to extend its business footprint to rural and semi-urban areas. Some of the specific uses of the money will be setting up additional physical branches, employing more field staff members, and improving portfolio tracking tools to ensure that quality is retained while growing.

This large capital infusion arrives at a crucial point for Seeds Fincap since it has set itself the ambitious target of growing its assets under management to ₹1,000 crore by March 2027. The financing helps with the necessary capital funds to implement these varied growth paths in an effective manner.

Established in 2021 by the team of Subhash Chandra Acharya, Avishek Sarkar, and Sumeet Dhall, Seeds Fincap specializes in its operations, with support being provided for nano enterprises. Access to formal credit from conventional financial institutions is frequently restricted for these small businesses.

The company doesn’t need to provide assets as security or proof; instead, it can assess the daily operating activity and cash flows of potential borrowers. This direct lending model empowers Seeds Fincap to provide loans between ₹50,000 and ₹10 lakh, addressing the credit needs of small businesses and local traders.

Leadership and financial performance

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Seeds Fincap, Subhash Chandra Acharya, stated his pleasure with the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, as the lead investor in the Series B round. He added that their participation is a powerful endorsement of the social and economic change the company aims to deliver.

He also pointed out that the continued support of existing investors confirms ongoing confidence in the intrinsic business model and the quality of the portfolio. The capital would provide the firm access to more entrepreneurs at various locations, strengthen technology and deepen its geographical presence, Acharya said.

The non-banking financial company has shown a history of financial stability, having made profits in both FY25 and FY26. In FY26, the organization provided around ₹620 crore in loans to small businesses in its target areas.

The total investments (AMOs) as of August 2026 came to ₹722 crore, showing significant business growth in recent years. The physical network of Seeds Fincap has grown to 164 branches spread across India, serving an active loan base of over 70,000 borrowers.

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation’s Rakesh Goyal, Head of Financial Services in India, said small business owners often experience challenges when trying to obtain formal credit. He noted that Fincap’s model serves the segment by meeting it with a best-in-class blend of local market expertise and proven risk-assessment processes.

Anish Patil, principal of Z47, one of the early backers of the project, explained that the experience of their founders in small-business lending led them to their initial investment. He pointed out that the company has successfully rationalised the loan book during the last 3 years without compromising on the discipline of risk and credit management.

Conclusion

Seeds Fincap’s ability to attain this funding milestone highlights the essential support role of non-banking financial institutions in fostering financial inclusion for small businesses in India. With this Series B round, the company raised more than ₹100 crore and aims to add more branches, grow risk technology, and scale up field manpower. With institutional investment and a cash-flow-oriented underwriting methodology, Seeds Fincap is moving forward to reach its target of ₹1,000 crore in assets by March 2027 and continuing to fill the credit drought for truly poor urban and peri-urban nano businesses engaging thousands in rural India.
