Real Madrid shows their dominance on the football field as they beat Chelsea FC 2-0 in the second leg of the quarter-final clash in the Champions League on Wednesday. Despite Chelsea’s valiant effort, Real Madrid was in the limelight yesterday. Real’s Rodrygo put two past Chelsea’s goalkeeper Kepa to steal the tie in Madrid’s favor and book a place for the team in the semifinals of the competition. Real Madrid won the tie with an aggregate score of 4-0.

The white army was fearful of none as they walked into Stamford Bridge for the second leg of the quarter-final tie between Real Madrid and Chelsea. The first leg was played at the Santiago Bernabéu, Real’s home ground and the white army won the match with the same score. Chelsea wished to turn the tie to their side when they played at Stamford Bridge, their home ground, but that was not going to happen. Real came absolutely prepared to pounce on the home side in the second leg, and they did with the help of Rodrygo, who scored two goals.

With this win, Real Madrid has successfully achieved qualification into the semifinals of the Champions League for the 16th time. It is the highest any club has ever achieved. Bayern Munich and Barcelona are two other clubs on the list with 12 qualifications each.

Real Madrid is currently eyeing their 15th Champions League title after winning their 14th last season, beating Liverpool 1-0. The Los Blancos have had a troubled season, but results like this have made them ambitious to achieve a certain silverware in this season. Real has already qualified for the finals of the Copa Del Rey tournament in Spain after defeating their arch-rivals Barcelona in the semifinals. Real will play in the finals against Osasuna on the 7th of May.

Chelsea put up a brilliant show in their home game against Real Madrid, only to lose to them 2-0. The game could have easily been on Chelsea’s side, but Real’s defensive capabilities saw every Chelsea effort fail. Thibaut Courtois kept the Blue’s efforts at bay and helped his team keep a clean sheet.

On the other side of the night, AC Milan emerged victorious in their quarterfinal tie with Napoli.
