Today, Google revealed that a few new features are available to Pixel owners. The tech giant most famously announced that owners of Pixel 8 Pro phones can take someone else’s temperature by scanning their forehead using the Thermometer app. You can store the reading on your Fitbit profile to gain a more comprehensive view of your health.

Google claimed you could use the Thermometer app to check the temperature of items like your coffee or your baby’s breast milk bottle when it was first released. According to the business, users can now scan their body temperature using the app. Google previously announced that it would release the app after receiving approval and that the FDA was examining its capacity to take body temperatures.
Google also said it’s launching “Circle to Search, ” a feature unveiled last week, to Pixel 8 and 8 Pro users. With this function, you may use gestures like circling, highlighting, sketching, or tapping to search on your phone from anywhere. According to the business, the new feature aims to make using Google Search more organic anytime a question arises, such as while viewing a video or a picture on a social media platform.
For instance, you may circle the Korean corn dog and inquire, “Why are these so popular?” while viewing a cuisine film.
You won’t need to interrupt what you’re doing to do a web search or snap a screenshot to remember to search for something later, thanks to Circle to Search, which lets you access search from any app. Remarkably, on January 31, the capability will also be available for the brand-new Galaxy S24 Series smartphones.
Additionally, Google is adding Magic Compose, a generative AI tool, to the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro models. This function can help you sound more professional and concise, or it can help you rewrite a draft message in several styles.
Furthermore, Google is also rolling out the Photomoji feature to the Pixel 3a and all subsequent Pixel models that have been released. With Photomoji, users can utilize AI to turn their favorite photographs into replies. Any photo can be selected, and users can use it to create a “photo emoji” for discussions. According to Google, all of these new capabilities will start to go out today.
