Meta Legal Space gives law students and legal trainees a virtual courtroom where the judge, clerk, witnesses and experts are powered by AI

Inside Meta Legal Space: a trainee argues a case against AI opposing counsel or a classmate, before an AI judge, clerk and witnesses

Dubai, UAE, October 26, 2026: Legaline Platform, an AI-native legal platform built in the UAE, today announced the launch of Meta Legal Space, MENA’s first AI-powered mock trial, at Dubai AI Festival, held on 26 and 27 October 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Meta Legal Space gives law students and legal trainees a virtual courtroom, with an AI judge, clerk, witnesses and experts, in which to train under conditions close to real litigation.

Trainees enter a customisable virtual courtroom and argue their case before an AI judge, with an AI clerk, witnesses and experts. Opposing counsel can be AI or a classmate. Nothing is scripted: each participant responds the way people do in a live hearing. Every witness has their own background, profession and manner, and their honesty, reliability and composure are set before the hearing and shape how they hold up under cross-examination. Each witness holds back one fact that the trainee has to draw out through questioning, while their answers stay within the case file.

“Many lawyers conduct their first cross-examination with a real client’s case on the line, and it is the client who pays for any mistake,” said Dmitry Grinik, Founder and CEO of Legaline Platform. “Meta Legal Space moves that first attempt to a place where mistakes are allowed. The witness wavers, the judge interrupts, opposing counsel objects, and all of it happens before anyone’s case is at stake. Along the way, students get used to working alongside AI, something the profession now expects from day one.”

Before the hearing, trainees choose the format – litigation, arbitration or mediation – and the legal framework: UAE onshore, DIFC or ADGM. Every case is written by practising lawyers rather than generated from templates, and each is rated for difficulty and duration, so instructors and trainees can match it to the trainee’s level of experience.

At launch, the library covers commercial, civil and labour cases. In a dispute over breach of a supply contract, two witnesses and an expert report carry the case, and cross-examination decides whether the claimed delay and damages hold up. In a construction defects dispute, a developer’s claims against a contractor turn on documentary evidence and expert testimony. A labour case puts an unfair dismissal claim before the DIFC Small Claims Tribunal. New cases will be added as more practitioners contribute material.

After every session, trainees receive a performance report scoring argumentation, procedural compliance and objection handling, and top results appear on a leaderboard. A licensed practitioner from the Legaline Platform network can take the judge’s seat and score the session live. Every case works both for supervised classroom teaching and for private rehearsal.

“I have spent more than 25 years in criminal defence, and the hardest part of a trial is not knowing the law. It is the moment a witness says something you didn’t expect,” said Alexander Ilduganov, Co-founder and General Partner of Legaline Platform. “You can’t learn that from a textbook, only in the courtroom. In Meta Legal Space, witnesses don’t answer on cue. Under good questioning, they either hold up or start to come apart, just as real people do.”

“Trainees in this region have never had a place to rehearse a hearing,” said Jouslin Khairallah, Founder and Managing Director of KH Legal and Founding Member of Legaline Platform. “Meta Legal Space closes the gap between what students learn in the classroom and what is expected of them the first time they stand before a judge.”

Meta Legal Space is being offered to law schools and legal training providers across the region. Registration is free: students create a Legaline Platform account and choose their first case straight away.

Meta Legal Space joins the AI tools already built into Legaline Platform. Baby Legal Bot is an AI tutor that helps users explore legal concepts and unfamiliar areas of law. The AI Research Assistant covers 35 legal areas and supports research and case preparation. Legaline Docs produces draft contracts, letters and pleadings in around 15 seconds for a lawyer to review.

To experience Meta Legal Space first hand and learn more, visit Legaline Platform at Dubai AI Festival, Hall 6, Booth G87, on 26 and 27 October 2026.
