Caretech Human, a startup based in Ithaca, will receive $175,000 from Launch NY, a venture-development organization. The investment is meant to help them increase the production of their innovative product that offers constant checks of the health status of urological ailments.

Funding Details

Caretech Human secured $175,000 from Launch NY. The funds comprise $75,000 from Launch NY’s nonprofit seed fund and $100,000 from Launch NY Seed Fund II, a new for-profit LP fund. The funds will help Caretech Human start selling products at a commercial level and plan its production.

Indeed, Marnie LaVigne, the CEO of Launch NY said that she is looking forward to contributing to the growth of innovative startups as they take their products to the Southeast region. TelosAir in Rochester and Edenesque in Buffalo are other organizations that received Launch NY funding alongside Caretech Human.

Health Assessment

The startup’s focus lies in the manufacture of a sophisticated urine analysis gadget. Unlike other technologies, this one provides an instant health report based on biomarkers found in the urine. This approach constitutes a non-invasive, rapid, and thorough health assessment, which may include but is not limited to rates of hydration, deficiencies in essential nutrients, and symptomology of undiagnosed chronic diseases.

Vision of Founders’

The founders are a team of passionate scientists and businessmen from Ithaca who foresee a world where health checks do not have to be complicated and are available to everyone. Their purpose is to equip people with the tools they need to monitor and manage their health and to detect problems early on.

Healthcare Domain

Caretech Human has invented a small gadget that users need to fix at a position above the water line of the toilet. This device can always record urine and has the intended capacity to check for early signs of urological diseases.

In other health domains, patients have tools at home to monitor their conditions like blood pressure monitoring devices, and glucometers for diabetics, urology does not have a similar tool for patients to monitor their symptoms and disease progression. Thus, Caretech Human’s solution fills the gap.

Future Prospects

As a result of the new funding, the startup is expected to expand, improve its services, and consider integration with clinics or insurance companies. The team is also shifting its attention to compliance matters and obtaining permits to sell its product.

Conclusion

The success of this Ithaca-based startup is a big step forward for the health-tech industry. With the help of urine analysis, they are bringing the future near, where people will be actively controlling their health conditions.

Unsurprisingly, the opportunities to improve individual health and the overall healthcare infrastructure increase as they progress in their development. This venture states the positive impact of technology in enhancing the lives of people and realizing a healthier society.
