Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla Inc, took to Twitter to ask users if they wanted an edit button. The Twitter survey comes after Elon Musk announced that he has a 9.2 percent interest in the firm worth roughly $3 billion, making him the microblogging site’s single largest stakeholder.
According to the preliminary findings of the survey, the majority of respondents desire the ability to modify tweets on Twitter.
In response to Elon Musk’s poll, Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal remarked that the poll’s implications will be significant. “I implore you to vote wisely,” he urged.
Twitter announced on its official account on April 1 that it was working on the long-awaited “edit” function. “We cannot confirm or deny but we may amend our message later,” the corporation stated when asked if the tweet was a prank.
Jack Dorsey, a co-founder of Twitter, stepped down as CEO in November. Musk’s Twitter investment has grown to more than four times that of Dorsey, who was formerly the company’s largest individual stakeholder.
The incident that triggered the submission, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission document made public on Monday, occurred on March 14. His investment qualifies him as a long-term “passive” investor, meaning he wants to avoid purchasing and selling shares.
Musk has, however, discussed the notion of creating a competing social media network in front of his enormous and devoted Twitter following.
Industry observers doubt that the unpredictable CEO will stay out of the spotlight for long.
