Recently, Truecaller introduced a verified government contact digital database that enables consumers to determine if the caller is a legitimate government representative or a fraudster. With numbers for departments and bureaucrats, the new tool will make it easier for citizens to contact government representatives.

Twenty central ministries with contacts in over 23 states and union territories are listed in the in-app government directory, which uses data obtained directly from the government and authorised sources. Additionally, Truecaller stated that it would add new numbers from other departments and states to the list.

The company also intends to add district and municipal-level contacts in the upcoming days, which will aid citizens in determining whether the caller is actually a government representative or a scammer, fraudster, or spammer. The user will notice a green background with a blue tick when a government representative calls them, indicating that the number is validated.

One can quickly contact local officials using the new tool for any assistance or question. There is no information on when it will be available on Apple’s iOS platform, but it is currently available on the Android version of the app.

Truecaller has updated the app with a number of new features, including smart SMS, sharable smart cards, and urgent message support.
