Definedge ₹22 crore pre-Series A funding

SUMMARY

Definedge is a fintech and brokerage startup. Definedge has raised ₹22 crore in a pre-Series A funding round. This brings its total capital raised to date to ₹30 crore. Existing investors Nitin Agarwal and D. Prasad also participated in the financing round as capital investors. The company also attracted fresh investors, including Anant Jain and Sachin Kasera, for support to the next level of enterprise growth.

Capital allocation and primary objective

The startup closed its first institutional and angel round in November last year before this fresh investment round. Hemant Luthra, Ajay Srivastava, D. Prasad, Nitin Agarwal, and Madhusudan N. Sarda were among the industry veterans who led that last round.

The funding round will give Definedge the insight and additional resources to enhance its technology stack, reach wider segments with its product offering, and continue to expand its physical and operational infrastructure to serve a growing retail client base. Definedge intends to use the raised funds to strengthen the technical hardware that makes up its platform, particularly for executing transactions at low latency.

The firm will focus on scaling its flagship products like Zone and Opstra and will look to expand Algostra as a no-code retail algorithmic trading platform throughout the Indian market. The startup will prioritize expanding Momentify from a systematic investing device to a thorough wealth-creation platform.

One of the key goals of the company is to accelerate platform penetration and the use of AI, such as Momentify and Algostra, to give retail investors and traders a structured and systematic process.

Building on the milestone of achieving ₹1,000 crore in assets under management, Definege will keep its momentum going with investments of ₹5,000 crore in assets under management on the Momentum platform over the next 24 months. In addition, the company’s objective is to scale its Gurukul learning ecosystem to strengthen education amongst retail market participants.

Company background and core offerings

Founded in 2021 by Prashant Shah and Rajesh Badiye, Definedge has a comprehensive full-stack wealth tech ecosystem with more than 14 interconnected platforms.

It offers trading, investing, quantitative research, and educational services aimed at retail traders and investors under the Opstra category, Zone, Algostra, Momentify, and Gurukul brands in total. The startup has experienced rapid user adoption of its users, with its user base growing by 125% in the last 14 months and a 10x increase during the last 36 months.

The Indian fintech sector is also witnessing a surge in growth, and Definedge’s work sits right in its midst, as startups secured $2 billion across 106 investment rounds in 1H26, up 42% from the same period in 2025.

Established players in the brokerage and wealth-tech space include Groww, Zerodha, Angel One, Upstox, and Dhan, while others are new entrants like Sahi, Trackk, and Zomint.

Navi raised $100 million in investments this year, and Sahi would raise $33 million, but in addition to raising funds, Definedge provides companies with an integrated ecosystem of analytical tools, research, execution, and investor education.

Conclusion

The successful pre-Series A funding round by Definedge has marked high investor interest in its complete wealth-tech and brokerage system. With the new investment in low-latency infrastructure, the integration of AI, and the expansion of its flagship platforms including Momentify and Algostra, the company’s approach should propel it toward the target of AUM of ₹5,000 crore. With the participation of retail investors in the Indian financial ecosystem on the rise, Definedge’s combination of execution tools and systematic research and education provides a clear trajectory for its future expansion.
