DefExpo 2022, India’s premier defence expo, which was postponed in March, will take place in Gandhinagar from October 18 to 22. Three business days and two public days will make up the five-day pre-Diwali celebration. The Sabarmati riverside in Ahmedabad will have live demonstrations on each of the five days exhibiting the tools and expertise of the military forces, DPSUs, and industry, according to an official announcement.
A few weeks after Russia attacked Ukraine, the event that was supposed to take place from March 10 to 14 at the same location was postponed due to “logistical concerns.”
The statement also stated that “bookings of space for new exhibitors will begin on August 15.” To promote a larger representation of Indian enterprises, a 25% reduction would be given on the previous space and ticket fees for DefExpo-2022.
The event will follow a three-venue structure, with exhibits on display at Gandhinagar’s Helipad Exhibition Centre, the inaugural event and seminars taking place at Mahatma Mandir, and a live demonstration taking place along the Sabarmati Riverfront.
The release continued, the exhibition is being planned with activities like Bandhan to foster business relationships, seminars and webinars showcasing start-ups and MSMEs, Artificial Intelligence in Defense, student visits, and promoting Gujarat as an investment destination for the aerospace and defence sector.
On work days from October 18 to 20, trade visitors can purchase tickets on the defence expo website; on October 21 and 22, however, general admission is free.
