Ada IQ, an artificial intelligence firm specializing in product design from Boston has been awarded a $275,000 Phase One Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant through the National Science Foundation. This grant will help Ada IQ grow and continue the company’s goal of changing the design process of consumer goods by incorporating its leading Design AI with state-of-the-art 3D computer-aided design (CAD) systems.

The Integration Project

At the core of this novel venture is the strategic partnership between Ada IQ, a California-based company, and PTC, a world-leading producer of CAD and product lifecycle management applications. The purpose is to combine Ada IQ AI-based market analysis with PTC Onshape® CAD and PDM system.

Data-Informed Decisions

Similarly to how Ada IQ is incorporating AI insights into CAD design, the firm aims to provide designers and creators with the power of data. It would be amazing if every decision we make with regards to design is based on insights that could be turned into actions.

Reduced Time and Market

With the help of AI, the time that is normally consumed in the development of a product can be greatly reduced. Thus, the strategic goal of Ada IQ is to help its clients to reduce the time-to-market of new products. To this end, Ada IQ seeks to design its products to match emerging trends within the market.

The Co-founder of Ada IQ said, “Our integration with Onshape represents the cutting edge of integrating market-driven analytics with design processes. We envision a world where every design decision is informed by deep, actionable insights, enabling creators to design products that truly resonate with consumers.”

The Vice President of Product at PTC, Greg Brown expressed his excitement and said, “The integration of Ada IQ’s AI-driven analytics with the PTC Onshape platform is an exciting development for the industry. We look forward to learning more about how AI can streamline product development and support designers and engineers worldwide.”

Vision and Mission of Ada IQ

Ada IQ stands for Advanced Design Augmentation. Its AI platform helps product managers, designers, and other stakeholders involved in the process to understand customers more effectively. The models within Ada IQ gather, scrub, and compile consumer data for numerous products.

It also offers scoring, consumer opinions, summary, hidden factors, and many others. After four years of research, Ada IQ has been using its own AI solutions to identify consumer needs and integrate them into realistic designs. For instance, their footwear models can forecast how suitable the generated design conception is to the needs of consumers in real time even as the design proceeds.

Conclusion

The fact that Ada IQ received the NSF SBIR Phase One award proves that the company has a unique approach to solving problems and has a chance to revolutionize the product design industry. They can only be better, quicker, and more adaptive to the market place as they proceed with their research and development.
