SUMMARY

Hunger Pangs Limited is the parent company operating the premium Burmese restaurant chain Burma Burma. Hunger Pangs Limited has officially registered its draft red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India. The IPO is aimed at enabling the company to access capital to support its next commercial steps toward European market expansion and market growth. The proposed public offering includes a new allotment of shares valued at ₹150 crore, in addition to an offer for sale of up to 2.79 crore shares by existing shareholders. This is a substantial corporate achievement, demonstrating how the experiential dining sector has come of age in the evolving Indian food culture.

Shareholder participation and network expansion

The offer for sale element features engagement from multiple prominent institutional and promoter players with plans to sell shares. Promoters Ankit Virendra Gupta and Chirag Narendra Chhajer, through promoter group entity Bbigplas Poly, will sell up to 60 lakh and 42 lakh shares, respectively.

The institutional and investor shareholders include Negen Tech Opportunities Angel Fund, with up to 64.68 lakh shares, Venture Catalysts Angel Fund, up to 27.72 lakh shares, and L V Angel Fund, up to 5.25 lakh shares. The other selling shareholders are Nisarg Ajaykumar Vakharia, Shweta Sharma, and Mehul Kirit Mehta, and Pantomath Capital Advisors was the sole book-running lead manager for the issue.

The proceeds from the new shares will be used to establish new Burma Burma restaurants across India in addition to general corporate purposes, according to Hunger Pangs. As at 31 July 2026, the enterprise has 22 restaurants, 1 delivery kitchen and 3 warehouses in 9 cities.

The draft red herring prospectus also reveals that its restaurant chains had a combined seating capacity of 1,991 seats as of June 30th, 2026, and a buying average of ₹2,400 during the 2026 financial year.

Financial performance and product diversification

In addition to a traditional dine-in casual dining restaurant, Hunger Pangs operates the Burma Burma Shop digital platform and continues to work on opportunities for growth in delivery and direct-to-consumer operations.

The company plans to launch packaged food products and ready-to-eat foods to address the changing consumer preferences in the future. The work of developing menus continues to focus on extensive culinary research, cultural storytelling, and standardized operational processes that demonstrate the consistent quality of food and the consistency of customer engagement at every restaurant location.

In the financial domain, Hunger Pangs showcased impressive top-line growth with its 2026 revenue from operations climbing 46.56% from the 2025 financial year’s figure of ₹106.1 crore to the current level of ₹156 crore.

Their earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization stood at ₹25.7 crore for the corresponding period compared with ₹21.4 crore, and the EBITDA margin was at 16.51% for 2026.

During the fiscal year, the firm reported a net loss of ₹15.37 crore. Burma Burma has managed to secure a total of $11 million in external investment. This includes an investment of $4 million (approximately ₹38 crore) in March 2026 at a valuation of ₹500 crore for the company.
