The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur announced today a collaboration with Swiggy’s Applied Research team to build a cutting-edge facial recognition system based on computer vision and artificial intelligence.
IIT Jodhpur has collaborated with the convenience platform to build a facial recognition technology that will enhance the Swiggy platform’s AI capabilities and allow greater security and compliance. The two teams are hoping that this will make things easier for customers and restaurant partners.
Swiggy formed this cooperation after seeing the need for an AI-powered capacity that can automatically recognise and extract faces from various sorts of pictures and selfies. The retrieved faces will be used to verify a person’s identification by comparing them to selfies made using the app. Furthermore, this technology has the potential to aid Swiggy in a variety of applications such as fraud detection, impersonation, shift attendance, and so on.
“For more than a decade, the research team at IIT Jodhpur has been focused on creating strong face recognition methods for limited and unconstrained contexts.” “This collaboration with Swiggy allows us to enhance research for real-world applications of matching document ID with selfies,” stated Mayank Vatsa, PI, IIT Jodhpur.
