In the future, Google intends to remove the standalone Street View app from app stores. According to The Verge, the technology behemoth will also end support for the app in March 2023. The site reported that a Google spokesperson, Madison Gouveia, confirmed this in a statement to them. Notably, 9to5Google was the first to notice evidence in a recent update indicating that the American technology behemoth intended to remove the programme.

Google’s Street View app is currently available on both iOS and Android. This software allows users to view locations on Google Maps using Street View. Furthermore, people can contribute 360-degree imagery, dubbed “photo spheres” by Google, to help improve Street View.

Users can currently use the Street View function in the main Google Maps app. They can use the Street View Studio online tool to contribute 360-degree imagery. As a result, the separate app is becoming less popular, and Google is planning to discontinue it by March of next year.

Google is unlikely to withdraw from Maps in any substantial way. Only a few weeks ago, the technology behemoth demonstrated some of the ways it intends to make the app more immersive, including what it calls a ‘Immersive Picture,’ which provides users with a 3D aerial view of a specific place with facts such as weather and traffic.

Meanwhile, Google has postponed plans to impose the Google Play payment system on Indian developers beginning October 31. The initiative was mentioned in an update to the company’s help website. The move comes less than a week after the Competition Commission of India (CCI) fined the corporation twice in a row for violating competition laws in the country.
