Singapore and the United Arab Emirates both had point increases of 17% and 10%, respectively, after it. In case you’re not familiar, multi-factor authentication, often known as MFA, is a layered security system that necessitates the usage of two or more credentials in order for users to log in utilising techniques like a PIN, password, or OTP.

As it turns out, MFA is becoming more and more well-liked both internal and non-IT workers, with the adoption rate rising to 40% from 34% last year.

According to the report, over 84% of IT professionals said they had some confidence in their company’s security system, up from just 56% last year. This is despite the fact that businesses are still concerned about the security risks associated with remote work when it comes to secure access to data, applications, and systems.

When comparing MFA usage around the globe, remote employees make up more than 68% of all cases, followed by privileged users at 52%. Companies were questioned by Thales about their plans for deploying new access security solutions.

According to the study, compared to just 41% last year, more over 45% of all respondents were in favour. The COVID-19 pandemic, according to the report, also had an impact on cloud-based access management, with adoption increasing to 45% from 41% the previous year.
